Whew! I’m back! However, I think my brain is still in an airport somewhere… If you see it, please be kind and nudge it in the right direction, it’s sort of slow right now and hasn’t caught up with my body, which is currently curled up on the sofa at home, enjoying a big cup of tea.
There will be a full report some time soon…

Welcome back! Great photos.

Cheers Yvonne!
The first one was a bit of a struggle as I had to get over my fear of heights to take it. I was at the top of an elevator overlooking the city, which was all rickety-looking metal and a too-visible drop to the ground a couple of hundred feet below. I’m sure it was absolutely safe, but phobias are irrational little demons…
The second one is from the Jeronimo Monastery, which is a UNESCO world heritage site and rightly so. Awesome is the only way to describe it – and the afternoon sunlight streaming in through the windows… Just gorgeous.

Oooh , it looks brilliantly spooky! I wouldn’t want to be in there by myself in the dark. Great shots!

Hey Holler.
More info coming shortly, I promise. Have a bit of a busy weekend, with the in-laws turning up tomorrow, so it’s house-cleaning, headless chicken time! Once that’s through, I’ll get my act together and post a full report
Hiya Sam.
It was a bit spooky, gothic and gorgeous all at the same time. The ceiling in that place was amazing – definitely going to post a couple more of those pics! There’s no way you could persuade me to go in there at night time tho’…

I spent a long time clicking away at all parts of the monastery but the late afternoon sunlight hitting the floor of the church had me mesmerized for quite a while.

Thanks Lor
I know Rachel has been having a lot of fun with her new camera – and so have I! But these pics are from my old one as I didn’t want to drag my bigger one along for a work trip. It took one heck of a lot of shots to get any I was happy with. Lots of wobbly, blurry pics in my computer files…

That second pic is very Phantom of the Opera-esque – fantastic!

Hi Catherine.
It was definitely very atmospheric in there! A fantastic stage for any production
Hey English Mum.
Glad to be back – am going to put some more photos up now while I’ve got five minutes…
Thanks Manuel!
I’ll have you know that my Well-Done Fillet badge toured with me – it has pride of place on my satchel and greatly enjoyed a tour around Lisbon
