If the blog looks a little different from its recent incarnation, it’s ‘cos I’m messing around a bit. Mainly for fun, but partly because I want a lighter-looking template. And because I have a low boredom threshold.
Anyone know any good ones? I’m quite partial to this version but I’d like to make all the text sans serif (and I have no idea how to do that)… Then again, I might go back to the previous look – that’s just the kind of mood I’m in today. So picky…
Update: Oh look – I changed it again. I’ll try sticking with this version for oooooh… at least a week (it has tabs and sans serif font, yay!) and see how it goes.

Here, find the bit in your stylesheet that starts with “font-family: something, serif;” and change it to “font-family: Arial, sans-serif;” or “font-family:Verdana, sans-serif;”
That’s it!

Ooooh – cheers Katherine
I just tweaked and previewed the new version – it looks a lot better. It’s telling me I have to purchase some CSS upgrade if I want to implement the change, so I’ll look into that and hopefully have this looking the way I want tomorrow.
Of course, I could change my mind again!

I like sans serif font as well, it looks cleaner or something. I love messing around with the style sheet, so much fun. Hope you’re enjoying the new job.

Hey Maz.
Yep – san serif definitely looks cleaner, doesn’t it? Plus it’s a lot easier to read online. I’ve gotta scoot off to Mullingar just now but I’ll be fixing it up tomorrow when I get back
The new job is going fine, cheers for asking. I’m just not sure about all this getting up early malarkey! (I’m not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination.) But it’s nice to have some pennies in the bank – work to buy stuff, work to buy stuff

Hey girly. I like this one – it feels very fresh and clean – the only thing I would say is that the white background can wash everything out. But no, on second thoughts, I think it works. See you’ve set off a Delia debate on my blog now? Hee hee x

I’d like to mess about with my blog, but I’m scared that I’d lose the entire lot (don’t laugh – if it CAN happen, it WILL happen!!!!).

Hiya English Mum.
I was wondering about the swathe of white but then decided that the only thing I wasn’t that fond of was the fact that this template doesn’t ‘frame’ the pics, which always helps make them ‘pop’. Something else to look into/ask technically-minded friends about.
Sorry about spilling the debate over into your gaff
That was completely unintended… But it’s interesting ‘cos everyone has quite strong opinions on the matter.
Hiya Lor.
Cheers – there’s a couple of bits I want to tweak but I’m happier with the cleaner look that the background provides. I’m an endless messer though, so it could all change again! (And probably will…)
Hi Ruth.
Thanks
It’s just easier on the eye, I think – losing that shaded grey background was a relief as it was starting to depress me. Although I’m a bit disappointed to lose the tabs. I really need to give my techie friend a call.
Hey Trekkie
I know what you mean – if there’s anything that can go wrong with a computer, it will inevitably happen to me
I’ve got to say, the WP template changes are pretty foolproof – it’s just the click of a button and you have a new look. But if this site suddenly goes down then you know I’ve pushed one button too many in search of bloggie perfection!

Hi CC
Twas a fabulous confection. And it definitely got a bit damper over a couple of days. It’s the kind of thing that makes me drool like Homer Simpson…
