Kitchen Confidential is a ripping read – I’m a big fan of Bourdain’s writing style, very entertaining. I will never order fish on a Monday. Ever. And I have the Wagamama book too – Donal over at The Good Mood Food blog has also reminded me that I want to go back and make delicious noodly things…

I have The Kitchen Diaries……brilliant stuff. For me I’d say Kitchen Confidential and for cookbook I’d say Wagamama’s ways with noodles…….great food and easy

Thanks for letting me know The search for the elusive salt cod continues… A seaside jaunt at the weekend might be in order. Although, like I say, I wasn’t that fond of it, it’s now becoming some kind of mission to seek it out!

Glad you enjoyed it It’s one of my favourites – definitely in the ‘puddings I could make forever/not share with any one if I didn’t have to’ category. Which is a quite a big category, now I come to think of it.

No salt cod in Beshoffs market in Howth I’m afraid! We were out there on Saturday. Didn’t pop into Wrights though as Beshoffs had what we were after so it could be worth a gander.

Although, truth be told, I had some salt cod in Lisbon and it was a bit of an aquired taste. It was ok at first, but there was a lot on my plate (generous portions were a feature of the trip) and I ended up feeling like I was chewing fishy leather.

But I’d still try it again Jeffrey Steingarten’s got a great piece in his book The Man Who Ate Everything about trying something 12 times before you end up liking it.

So I’ll definitely be doing my own scientific investigating!
