That’s how the kid sat behind me on the plane described the view as we descended into Newark airport. OK, the pic above is New York but the same thing applies to the power of, ooh, infinity at least.
About an hour after I took this picture at the top of the Empire State Building, the fog lifted. Curses. Of course, we were miles down the road by that point…
Now I’m back home, my head is swirling, my neck is shonked from an interesting sleeping position on the plane and my arms are fit to drop off after lugging back a big bag of stuff – including goodies from Crate and Barrel, which is quite possibly my spiritual home.
Off for a snooze…

Jen, I’m sure you loved New York…one can spend time in the city with little sleep, still full of energy from the adrenalin.

Hey Maz.
Funny you should say that – my husband brought back some glasses and I brought back the matching jug. And a serving bowl. And some little dipping dishes. And a lot of other stuff…
Hiya Rachel.
Oooh – spooky! Did they fly back from Newark on Continental flight 22? Got in about 7am? That would be one of life’s weird coincidences, wouldn’t it?
Hello and welcome Truenorth.
I loved NY! Just wish I’d had a bit more time to explore before going off to work. So much going on. Such a buzz… Maybe a little addicted!
Hey Manuel.
I know, it’s a tough gig isn’t it? Divide and conquer! Of course, I’m now up late cos my brain thinks it’s still the middle of the evening but it was worth it.

It would be an extremelyfreaky conincidence Jen but unfortunatley not, they were flying with aerlingus, strange enough you being gone the same time as them and all!!!!

So glad you enjoyed yourself, despite work! Crate & Barrel! I am jealous as there are none of those in my neck of the woods!

Hi again Rachel.
Knew it was too good to be true! Still, pretty coincidental… Hope your mum and sister had a ball
Hey Forkful.
I’m still a bit wobbly from the jet lag to be honest. Am catching up with the rest of the blogosphere and will post soon.
Hiya Yvonne.
C&B – how did I manage before you came along? It’s the best, isn’t it? I’m currently admiring my lovely green glasses and jug…
Hey Holler and English Mum.
My goodness, you two are impatient
But you’re right, I’ll haul my ass into gear and get some pics/words sorted soon(ish).
Hi Deb.
There’s none where I live either, so I took full advantage! Although I see from their website that they ship – that way madness lies…
Cheers Lor.
It was a lot of fun. Although now I have a ton of work to do as a result… No rest for the wicked

Yeah – I know…
Sorry about that – jet lag and an insane working week…
I promise you that it really isn’t worth the wait – I was thinking about this at the weekend and it wasn’t very interesting food-wise. ‘cos we were muppets when it came to planning anything. But I’ll get something up there on Friday evening if I can.

Hey Ruth.
It was a good trip – but there’s a list as long as my arm and more of the things we didn’t get to see… If I ever win the lottery, I’m going back to live there for a while
