Cupcakes from Buns, ‘Ireland’s First Cupcake Bakery’ - at the Taste Kildare event in the grounds of the K Club today. Very fancy pants that place.
Hello
I'm short of stature (a family trait) but big of appetite (also a family trait). If you're reading this then you're probably big of appetite too. Or a member of my family (hello Mum).

Hey Margaret.
We’ve got one vanilla left and the chocolate one. So those are dessert tonight. The carrot cake was a little dry but the icing was just right.
Hi Beth.
We weren’t the only ones who thought so. The stall sold out by about 3pm, with another 2 hours of the event to go!

They look amazing, I wish I had the patience to ice my cupcakes like that.

Hey CC.
The icing was delicious -not too heavy or overly vanilla. Just right. Disappointingly, the chocolate-spice one was quite dry and could have done with some icing. But the vanilla was fab.
Hiya Yvonne.
Me too! I promised last time I had cupcakes that I would get into this dark art but, like so many things, I just haven’t got around to it…

There were some small red velvet ones too and they were mega-cute.

Hi Manuel.
I cannot resist the lure of a good dollop of icing. And sprinkles – I love sprinkles
Hey Holler.
I’d send one over but they’re all gone
Fortunately, I think Paula is based just up the road from me nearby. Will have to investigate on my bike one day.
Hello and welcome Katie.
I was born in Leeds – lots of family there
Will have to check out that cupcake bakery the next time I’m back in Yorkshire. Maybe there needs to be a guide to the cupcakes of the UK, with extensive and rigorous testing…

I’m just about to invest in a proper kit for cake icing. Although I’m imagining making a large amount of mess before getting those swirly things right! x

Hiya EM.
I’ve got some piping bags and nozzles but the last thing I iced was a lemon meringue pie and the kit has been languishing in the drawer since then.
But Veggie Kate gave me the cupcake book from M&S, so I’ll have to get cracking and ice away (probably with my tongue stuck out of the corner of my mouth).
